How it works

From an Issue to action.

  1. 01

    Start an Issue

Something in your community needs attention. Register the Issue and explain what should change.

  2. 02

    Build support

Citizens can support it or give feedback. Local Communities and nonprofits can stand behind it, bring knowledge, organize people and help.

  3. 03

    Find who can act

Identify the public agency, company, organization or responsible person best positioned to address the Issue. They can accept it — or redirect it to the right place.

  4. 04

    Follow what happens

CommonUs keeps the Issue, people involved, commitments, actions and progress together until there is an outcome. You can see who is helping, what is happening and what changed.

Local to national

Every Issue starts somewhere.

CommonUs organizes Issues across 16 Issue Areas and four geographic scopes. This helps the right people and organizations find the Issues that matter to them.

Communities choose what they care about.

A Community can follow one Issue Area, several, or all of them — and choose its own geographic area. When a new matching Issue is registered, the Community can be notified and decide whether to follow it, support it or help.

    Built for solutions

CommonUs is not a complaint box.

Personal fights, neighbor arguments, harassment and matters that primarily belong to law enforcement are not what CommonUs is for. CommonUs is for Issues that affect a community and have a realistic path to action.

Built-in AI helps keep Issues relevant, constructive and focused on what can actually be done.

    Solve problems. Don't amplify conflict.
